Course details
This 10 week
course aims to offer creative businesses an insight into marketing and selling online focusing on Social Media. Weekly sessions will include; an
overview of Social Media and why it is so useful for creative businesses, an introduction to writing a Blog,
setting up a Facebook business page, networking on Twitter and using Social Media to showcase your work using visuals.
Course requirements
Learners will be expected to be at a suitable stage
of their practice to be ready to profile and promote their work. They will need
to have appropriate digital images of their work that can be used on-line.
Learners should also have IT skills including word
processing and the use of email and Internet. Some familiarity with Social
Media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter would be advantageous.
The course is suitable for artists who have already
completed the Steps to Self-Employment course (previously Creative Connections), though this
is not an essential requirement.

Learners will be able to gain an overview of Social
Media and the most time efficient ways of using it to promote their work.
How will I learn?
Learners will receive one to one support in setting
up Social Media accounts and getting them up and running.
Each session will include practical demonstrations
as well as illustrated talks.

be monitored and assessed?
In additional to the learning aims and objectives
of the course, learners will set their personal learning goals at the beginning
of the course and progress towards achieving these will be regularly reviewed.
Learners will have the opportunity for weekly
feedback and support from the course tutor and visiting speakers.
The course is non-accredited.

The course fee is £108.

By the end of the course you will be able to plan your strategy for online marketing and set up two or more Social Media accounts to promote your business.
